I started my
professional life as an actor but gravitated to theatrical
design as it paid better. This eventually led to my working
Off-Broadway, On-Broadway, in regional theatre, in film and television
and finally as an instructor in scenic design at Fordham University at
Lincoln Center. I retired in 2003 in order to concentrate on my
artwork.
I have
had no formal art training. All of my education in art
has been through the world of theatre. My boxes are often compared to
the models of stage settings I have designed. With my paintings, at
least at the moment of this writing, I find my self using traditional
scenic background techniques.
